With relaxing fragrance and eye-catching texture, these beautiful shrubs have lots to add to your garden space

Lavender is commonly planted for the harvest of its oil used in perfumes and fragrances. The scent of lavender is known to have relaxing and calming properties used in aromatherapy. Lavender is also said to help reduce stress, anxiety, and some mild aches and pains.  Bunches of dried lavender are commonly hung in the shower or bath to enhance your self-care experience! The scent of lavender is even known to deter mice, flies and mosquitoes from the home.

Irises!

Add unique texture and striking color to your space today!

There are thousands of different cultivars (cultivated varieties) of irises, each one unique with their own beauty. These amazing flowers just arrived at our nursery for you to add to your garden today!  We have several different colors and varieties.

The Bearded Iris (Iris germanica) and Siberian Iris (Iris siberica) are popular in the north due to hardiness, and are known for their incredible color and texture. Why is ‘Bearded Iris’ called that you might ask?  Iris flowers have three upright petals called “standards” and three downward ones called “falls”. What gives the bearded iris their name is the fuzzy attachment or row of hairs—the “beard”—near the base of each falls petal.  For more information on bearded iris, see the UVM Extension Website’s great article on Bearded Iris.

We also carry iris plants that are more slender shaped with smaller flowers, adding a different type of impact to your garden space. Irises bloom only for a short time in late May and June, but their leaves create textural interest in the garden year-round.
